I just got this topic from a friend of mine when she shared with me that she’s scared to start being a content creator. She knew that she wanted it, but she overthought everything. What if people didn’t like it? What if no one was watching? And so on. I’ve been there, too. Maybe there’s a moment when I could be like my friend.

I remember when I wanted to start writing on Personal Website. There were a lot of negative thoughts raced through my mind. Our minds are like never-ending machines. It works every day, but we let fear and overthinking rule our lives, causing us to never take action.

“Starting something new is hard because it’s uncomfortable and could involve taking a risk and confronting fear. But, being stuck where you are right now is more comfortable, guaranteed, but you’re not growing and are simply doing something that comforts you.”

My Friend

We’re too perfectionist.

Am I right? I’ve been there a hundred times, thinking that when I start something new, it has to be perfect. But, the fact is that we have to stumble and fall first before being a pro, not be perfect. Because everything we do is about learning and improving.

We’re too focused on big goals.

There’s nothing wrong with setting big goals for everything we start and do. But, don’t let it be a gap and make us deny the process and small steps. What we can do is begin now, giving our best and accepting everything. Little by little, we will see it become a big mountain one day.

We give up too easily.

Everything we want has never been easy to achieve. It never works overnight, but it’s about how consistent we are about working toward our dreams. I know that when everything we’ve done hasn’t worked, we give up too easily. Just keep going; we’ll never know that we’re almost there!

We’re easily distracted by many things.

Yes! Especially since what I’ve done appears to be so uncertain. I enjoy doing a lots of activities in life. I, too, have a numerous of interests. It can be difficult for me to focus and maintain consistency at times. But it’s just the old me. I’ve focused everything on what I want to accomplish and am currently working on.

So, when everything seems so hard to start in the beginning, but you know that you need to do it, just take action. We’re never ready for everything, but we can always take a small step every day. The fear inside us is not as big as we think.

Start before you’re ready. Don’t prepare, begin.
